Privacy Policy

Glowcast ("we", "our", "us") operates the Glowcast mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose.

Skin profile. During onboarding, you provide your skin type (oily, dry, combination, normal), sensitivity level (reactive, resilient, seasonal), skin goal (clear, brighten, calm, longevity), age range, and any skin concerns. This data is used solely to personalize your Glow Scores.

Meal data. When you log a meal, we collect the text description you enter or the photo you take. Photos are processed to identify food items and are stored in your account so you can review past meals.

Usage data. We collect basic analytics such as app opens, features used, and crash reports to improve the app experience.

Subscription data. If you subscribe, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Meal analysis. Your meal text or photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for nutritional analysis. This analysis is used to generate your Glow Score across 8 skin-health dimensions.
• Personalization. Your skin profile data is used locally and in API requests to weight scoring dimensions specific to your skin type, sensitivity, and goals.
• Account management. Your email is used for authentication, password resets, and essential service communications.
• Improvement. Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve the app.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — Authentication and secure data storage (hosted in the US).
• Anthropic (Claude API) — Processes meal descriptions and photos to generate nutritional analysis. Meal data sent to Anthropic is not used to train their models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — Manages subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Expo / React Native — App framework and update delivery.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data. Meal photos are stored in private storage buckets accessible only to your account. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Meal logs and photos are kept so you can track patterns over time. You can delete individual meal entries at any time from within the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data through the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
• Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

Glowcast is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
